What Is Programmed Learning?
Programmed Learning is a method of instruction developed from decades of cognitive science research. Instead of delivering content in a linear lecture format, it breaks knowledge into small, precisely sequenced steps — each followed immediately by a response from the learner.
The key insight: understanding is only confirmed when the learner produces the correct response independently. A student who watches a reaction being explained has not yet learned it. A student who correctly predicts the product of an unseen reaction has.
